Drew's tumbling class

I feel bad for Drew sometimes because like a typical second child he gets pulled around to all of Matthew's activities, but doesn't have a lot for himself. I found one class that the community center offered in spring for his age- tumbling- and went ahead and signed him up. I know it is tumbling, not very exciting, but I just wanted to give him something to do by himself. He had a good time going to HIS class and listened very well to his teacher. We were only allowed to watch the last class. He is really good at following instructions. I had a great time watching him froggy jump, roll, crab crawl, etc. across the room.

Zoo

We did lots of fun stuff when Emily's crew was here. We went to the zoo one day- it ended up being 95 degrees (hotter than expected). Since you walk pretty far at the zoo, everyone got pretty hot! We spent a lot of time handing out drinks and fighting the temptation to jump in with the polar bears. My camera died there, but I did get one random picture first. But, Nana got some pictures of the kids in the reptile maze exhibit that are pretty fun.

Owen's nap

Owen had a really hard time getting to sleep when family was here after he figured out how to climb out of the pack-n-play. (He was moved out of his room and crib). We struggled with him everytime he took a nap or went to bed because he would just climb out and walk out. I finally put a gate up to at least keep him in the office, but then he would just cry at the gate. I would go in and put him back in the bed every so often until he feel asleep. One day he got quiet and I went up to see if he was ready to go into his bed again when I found him like this. It was so cute I almost forgot what a fuss he had been making (almost). It was great when we could finally get him back in his crib. He did try to climb out of his crib once when he was back in his room, but it only took him the one time to realize it wasn't worth the higher fall.

4th of July- Mario's Hulk Party

After recovering slightly from camping (or at least unloading), we got right back into the swing of things. Nana made her special (addicting) chocolate cake. Emily got grilling. (Dinner was yummy steak and salad with Emily's special dressing.) We got everything wrapped and set up for Mario's Hulk party. It was a lot of fun. At the end of the day the kids were too tired to pose for pictures in their matching 4th of July shirts. And not even the adults made the effort to watch fireworks!

Home

After a fun day of camping, one might feel a little worn out. The adults were feeling that way and the kids (as you can see from the pictures) felt that way too! Every one of the kids feel asleep on the way! I took these pictures after we arrived home. I'd say that was a successful camping trip!

Camping- the lake

While Emily and I packed up all of our stuff. Nana and Matt took the kids to the nearby lake for swimming. Everyone else headed over with their kids too. When they got there they realized that even though it says you can swim there, maybe it wasn't the best idea. Some did eventually brave the questionable water. Others just played in the sand. Either way, it was still a lot of fun.

Camping- breakfast and playing

I had to finish blogging about camping because it was so much fun and we have some great pictures. In the morning when we woke up (after our cold night's sleep) we made a joint breakfast with the other families we were camping near. It was really good, or maybe we were starving? The kids had more fun playing games, exploring, and climbing trees.
