The Dental Formal

Aaaah- the dental school formal. Great times. Matt picked out both of our outfits. My dress took quite a few tries, then he surprised me on the night of the dance when he came out of the bathroom in an awesome matching tux. (Even our shoes matched) We had soooo much fun eating and dancing the night away. It took place in this giant VIP restaurant at the Cleveland Indians baseball field. We sat with Jacksons and Lathams. Just looking at the pictures makes me miss them! This was for sure one of our Cleveland highlights.

I'm finally getting around to posting pictures from the home I found for us in Franklin. For those who don't know, Franklin is a little south of Nashville, but the drive into Vanderbilt hospital won't be too bad for Matt everyday. Franklin is nicer than Nashville and has better schools. Also, it is where the temple is. We are really excited to move there! The home is in a planned community (with our own pool), and is on the corner of a culdisac (sp?). It was built in 2002- which makes it about 80 years newer than our current home! It has 3 bedrooms, 2 and a half bathrooms, a loft, and a bonus room about the 2 car garage. There is also a 2 story living room, a dining room, an eat-in kitchen, a laundry room, a cute front porch, a fenced back yard with a little deck, an actual master suite... Can you tell I'm pumped? I really loved the big windows everywhere. It is also really close to Matthew's school (which is only 5 years old) and also a 5 min drive from groceries, target (dangerous), and other shopping! I really felt like God's hand was in this search. This was by far the nicest home in our price range and the number listed online for the home was incorrect, but an agent looked up the correct one for me- that was the only reason I think it hadn't been rented already. We feel really blessed!

Uncle Jefferey and Kalahari

A couple weeks ago Jeffery came down for a visit. We had such a good time. The kids LOVE their uncle Jeffery. He plays with them non-stop and teaches them cool soccer and karate moves. He came over Matt's spring break so we were able to go to an indoor water park (Kalahari) for two of the days. The boys were all old enough to really enjoy it. They haven't stopped talking about it since. When we checked in they upgraded our room to include the huge suite next door too. It was awesome. It had a huge living and dinning space and a big kitchen. I don't know how much something like that usually costs, but it was awesome! The indoor water park was huge and we had lots of hours of fun. The kid areas, the wave pool, the lazy/tube area, and the slides were all favorites. Matthew even tried the surf machine on a boogy board! What a great vacation!

Thank goodness for air guitars

The other day we were driving in the car and the kids were all fighting about something when an 80's rock song came on that we really like. Matthew was really excited.
"Good thing I brought my air guitar!" he exclaimed. He proceeded to start pumping one arm like crazy- really getting into it. Andrew proceeded to pull out his air drums and the rest of the car ride was a blast. All I can say is- it was a good thing that he remembered his air guitar!

Quote of the day

I've seen some people do these on their blogs and thought I really should to. Kids say the funniest things some times! Like Owen today (out of the blue)-
"I want to be a girl like Bree (a girl about his age in our ward)"
Me- "Why?"
Owen- "Because nothing." (a favorite response of his!)

Pi Day!

So yesterday was Pi Day! If anyone is looking for some family traditions to start, I would really recommend this one. It doesn't require much thought- just making and eating pie! March 14, or 3/14 is going to be a tradition in our house. Matthew loved learning about the number pi (3.14....) And he really like the play on words (pi and pie), but mostly they all just liked eating pie! Who doesn't? Hooray for pi (or should I say pie?) day!

Andrew's Bday #4

Andrew had a great birthday. He doesn't have school on Mondays so he got to do whatever he wanted all day long. He opened one present in the morning- he picked the pack from Aunt Jenny which had two leapster games. He was pumped. We all went to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast. Then we went to the grocery store where he picked what he wanted for cake and icecream. Owen, Andrew, and I then went to walmart to let him play with the toys and he got to pick whatever book he wanted- a Dora story. Later we went to the library where he picked a movie. During Owen's nap he got to play games and watch his movie. Then we went to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner and games. He got whatever he wanted there- Thank you Nana for Chuck E. Cheese. He ate almost the entire cinnamon sticks for his dinner and played lots of games. We came home for presents, cake, and icecream. He got a wii game (Spyro) from us and a couple pokemon toys from his brothers. Of course there was a card with a dollar from the greats. He had so much fun all day.

The really funny thing is how excited he gets. He is by far our most anticipatory child. He gets excited for days before hand and can't wait. Then all day on his birthday he kept asking me to sing him the happy birthday song. He'd also say, "Hey mom, say 'Andrew it's your birthday!'" To which I would say, "Hey Andrew! It's your birthday!" And he would have this super cheesy grin. He loved it. He loved getting to do whatever he wanted all day. I'm guessing he will be our really early riser on Christmas. He just gets so excited. Well, Happy BDay Drew- you are a great kid!
